Living with Anxiety Study
Art Competition

The Living with Anxiety (LwA) Study is hosting an art competition to explore and showcase artistic representations of what it means to live with anxiety. We welcome submissions that reflect all types of anxiety experiences.

Submissions open: 12:00am (AEST) on 7 October 2025.
Submissions close: 11:59pm (AEST) on 9th December 2025.

Prize details:

The art prize is open to individuals aged 18 years or over who currently reside in Australia.

There are 4 prizes, with each prize worth a $500 gift card.

Entry is free. There can be up to 3 entries per person, but each entrant can only win once.

Entrants must submit an original artwork they have created for consideration.

Artworks need to meet the specified technical detail requirements.

Theme:

The theme is experiences with Anxiety.

When submitting your work, you will be asked to share a statement [up to 150 words] describing the artwork and its relationship to anxiety.  The judges will consider your statement as part of the overall judging process.

Winning artworks will be used to promote the LwA research study through digital media, in order to generate interest in the study and encourage participation.  Winning and shortlisted artworks will be displayed on the LwA study webpage and promotional materials. Artwork statements may also be displayed. Winners and those shortlisted can choose to have their name displayed.

Judging:

The judging panel will be comprised of LwA study mental health researchers and individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges.  To ensure that judging is unbiased as much as possible, you will be assigned a code on the submission page with which to name your uploaded artwork file. In doing so, the judges will not have any personal information when reviewing the artwork.

While entrants with anxiety are more than welcome to sign up to the Living with Anxiety study, you do not have to have anxiety, or participate in the LwA study, to join this art competition.
